Formal Critique

- This image shows an overlook onto a valley below. There is a path near a giant palm tree and and a large series of trees that cut through the valley. There are dead bushed along the top of the hill and down om the valley. There are also groups of trees in the distance alongside another hill across from the valley.
- The picture is similar to Muybridge's work as he usually liked to focus on nature. I attempted to mimic his work by talking the photo from a high point and overlooking a valley. IT also shares a similar theme in his work that shows how certain aspects of nature cut through others. In addition the lack of man made structure visible relates to his photos being isolated.
- There are rule of thirds as one third of the screen has sky. There is also vertical lines present in the dead bushed. The horizontal line of the trees cut through the nature. In addition, The dark green of the tree line contrasts with the rest of the vegetation.

- The image shows a small field of dead grass. The grass is surrounded by trees on both sides. There is a palm Tree at the far end of the image. There is also some green vegetation in the foreground. The Blue sky shows soft friendly clouds. The dead grass appears to be blown over by constant wind.
- The picture is similar to Muybridge as he also took pictures of nature. His pictures were generally used pieces of nature to frame other objects. He also took photos with a clear sky. In addition he had a theme in his photos where there was something cutting through something else. picture does this with the grass.
- The photo contains framing that is made by the trees on both sides of the image. There is also converging lines on either side of the dead grass. This photo also displays rule of thirds with the horizon. There is a vertical line visible made by the palm tree adding energy to the photo.

- This image shows a young tree overlooking a valley with trees in it. There is a path visible as well as a line of trees. The sun is to the left of the image, as we can tell from light being more present on the left side. There is also rough dirt at the base of the tree.
- This image is similar to his work as he also had the theme of having a tree overlooking a large valley. he also had the objects bellow be surrounded as this one. He also had skies that constantly contrasted with his landscape.
- The photo contains diagonal lines from the tree line, the path. and valley. The path and tree line also work as framing for the valley.The horizon shows rule of thirds. There is expansive depth of view present and the vertical lines of the tree adds suspense.

- The image shows a lake. The lake is obscured by the grass, however there is a clearing in the middle. This reveals the lake and island in the back. Behind the lake and some trees there is a neighborhood. There is also a clear white sky present.
- The image is similar to his work as he took pictures of lakes too. He attempted to capture the essence of nature as I attempted to too. He also never fully revealed the lake but rather showed only a piece of it. He usually had something in the back of the lake as well.
- The tools in this image include a higher exposure and expansive depth of view. There are vertical lines present in teh tall grass. The tgrass also acts as a frame for the lake.There is also rule of thirds present with the horizon.

- The image is a series of photos of a duck walking. The duck walks from right to left. He walks in the dirt past a tree and a bush.
- This is very similar to his work as he did much stop motion and set them up in this fashion. He took still of animals and compiled them into a a series of photos which showed that animals movements.
- The image contains stop motion and varying amounts of light. The duck showcases the stopmotion while the light changed due to where he was.
