This image by Jabob Riis is similar to the children above as they are also struggling. However, these children live in a city. Seeing the group of children sitting on the ground with dirty clothes also hints to us that they do not come from wealthy families. In addition, the horse that lies dead near them also provokes sadness. The interesting part however, is how the children stay happy and calm unaware of the sadness near them. The older boy in the back now mature, shows his dis-contempt.
